LÉO WARYNSKI, CONDUCTOR

Léo Warynski's conducting style is described as ‘precise, sensitive and daring’. Open-minded and versatile, he conducts all repertoires with the same enthusiasm: operatic, symphonic, contemporary, or vocal music.

Léo Warynski trained as a conductor at the Paris Conservatoire and has since conducted many orchestras in France and around the globe.

He is a regular guest with the l’Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, l'Orchestre de Normandie, l'Ensemble Intercontemporain and  La Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia. His love of the voice and opera has led him to conduct a number of opera productions, notably at the Opéra de Nice (Akhnaten by Philip Glass, Orphée aux Enfers by Offenbach), at the Opéra d'Avignon (Carmen by Bizet, Three Lunar Seas by Joséphine Stephenson).

Recent engagements include concerts with Die Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen. and l'Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, as well as opera productions at l'Opéra de Toulon and El Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.

Léo Warynski is Artistic Director of Les Métaboles vocal ensemble, which he founded in 2010. In 2014, he was also appointed Music Director of L'Ensemble  Multilatérale, an instrumental ensemble dedicated to creation.

In 2020, he was named Musical Personality of the Year by the Syndicat de la Critique (The French Music Critics' Professional Association)
