Steen Andersen - Opening of the Festival ManiFeste -
Concert
Humor, memory and joy, in music and on screen. On stage Carlos Kleiber and Sergiu Celibidache, Miles Davis and Bruckner, Stockhausen and Beethoven, and one of the most beautiful choreographies of Thomas Hauert with his Zoo company, filmed by Thierry De Mey. The opening night of the ManiFeste festival constitutes an immense montage, a whirlwind that spreads from the image to the music. The young Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen has created an ultra-virtuoso collage where the orchestra, jazz band and vocal ensemble present in the room play with a series of living archives – a deep and hilarious journey into our own memory musical. The Summer Playlist includes and wide-ranging, up to Ravel’s La Valse, danced on the rooftops of Brussels by Thomas Hauert’s company. Aerobatics and whirling, a summer playlist, where the eye listens.
