LÉO WARYNSKI, CONDUCTOR
Léo Warynski's conducting style is described as ‘precise, sensitive and daring’. Open-minded and versatile, he conducts all repertoires with the same enthusiasm: operatic, symphonic, contemporary, or vocal music.
Léo Warynski trained as a conductor at the Paris Conservatoire and has since conducted many orchestras in France and around the globe.
He is a regular guest with the Orchestre national de Metz, Orchestre philharmonique de Nice, Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, Ensemble intercontemporain or Orchestre symphonique national de Colombie. His love of the voice and opera has led him to conduct a number of opera productions, notably at Opéra de Nice (Akhnaten, Orphée aux Enfers, Satyagraha), Opéra d’Avignon (Carmen, Three Lunar Seas) or Académie de l’Opéra de Paris (Mozart and Britten).
Among his recent and upcoming engagements are concerts with the Orchestre national de Metz, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Casa da Música in Porto, the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, and the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, as well as opera productions with the Opéra de Nice.
Léo Warynski is Artistic Director of Les Métaboles vocal ensemble, which he founded in 2010. In 2014, he was also appointed Music Director of L'Ensemble Multilatérale, an instrumental ensemble dedicated to creation. In 2026, he will also become principal chorus master and conductor-in-residence at Casa da Música in Porto.
In 2020, he was named Musical Personality of the Year by the Syndicat de la Critique (The French Music Critics' Professional Association).
