Ravel's choral music is rare. It does, however, have treasures among which Les trois chansons for a cappella choir. His music seems to find an ideal extension with voice and choir. This program proposes to play large pages transcribed for the choir: from Ma mère L'Oye to Scheherazade via La Vallée des Cloches. Great composers and arrangers have already given their letters of nobility to this Ravelian art of transcription: Gérard Pesson, Thierry Machuel or Clytus Gottwald. For this program, Les Métaboles challenged Thibault Perrine to transcribe for the first time two emblematic works by Ravel: Bolero and La Pavane pour une infante défunte. There is no doubt that these new versions for choir will make it possible to discover these works in a new and unprecedented light!
